Following a weekend camp, as part of the Mad Hatters UK Unit 42 East Lancs contingent, Charlotte Whiston (Year 11), Oliver Sinclair (Year 10) and Hal Davies (Year 9) are among seven young people selected to represent the Ribble Valley at this jamboree to be held in July 2019. They have been fundraising for the past 18 months.
The Summit Bechtel Reserve, a world-class, sustainable jamboree site, will host the 24th World Scout Jamboree. The reserve is located in West Virginia, USA and comprises more than 14,000 acres of beautiful forested mountains adjacent to more than 70,000 acres of national park in the scenic New River Gorge area. The reserve is one of the most environmentally sustainable human habitats ever built for scouts.
This 24th World Scout Jamboree is unique because it is a team effort by Scouts Canada, Asociación de Scouts de México and the Boy Scouts of America. Over 45,000 scouts and leaders from 133 countries across six continents will attend the jamboree.
As well as taking part in the jamboree, over three weeks, our students will visit New York and Washington and will spend time in Canada. A fantastic international adventure awaits them.
