Year 12 and 13 Visit to Forbes Solicitors Gordon House, at Walton Summit: Thursday 5th February 2026

We were delighted to be given the opportunity by Emma Fitzsimmons, our Enterprise Adviser to visit Forbes Solicitors with a group of our Year 12 and 13 students.

The session involved an Introduction to Law, presented by Emma which helped our students to understand the different roles and entry and progression routes in the modern-day legal industry.

This was then followed by a ‘Day in the Life’/’Career Journey’ with Ashleigh Dibb (Trainee Solicitor) and Lucy Brady (Talent and Development Coordinator – and also CRGS Alumnus).  They both gave lots of useful advice and talked about their career journey to date.  These talks were both extremely useful for our students and they especially appreciated being able to ask questions.

After a short break, the students also engaged in a mock trial activity run by Atif Hussain, (another Trainee Solicitor) and also a session looking at CV Skills.  These sessions were also very captivating and helped our students to gain experience of both the work of a solicitor and also how to prepare for competitive professional applications.

Mr Powell, our Careers Lead, would like to thank Emma and her team for such an insightful and interesting day.  Miss Parsons has copies of materials on the different entry routes which students can make use of, as well as copies of the resources on CV skills and application advice.  We would like to thank Emma, and her team, for giving up their time to organise such an insightful morning for us.  It was an excellent visit, and we hope to be able to arrange another visit soon.
