Visit from CRGS alumnus Rebecca Ramsden:  Tuesday 2nd December 2025

Rebecca took part in an interview-style assembly with Mr Powell, our Careers Lead, in which she was able to talk about her experiences of studying A Levels and share advice on the UCAS application process including the decision-making process.  She also talked about the value of work experience and developing your interpersonal skills as well as reflecting on her university experiences.  She shared lots of sage advice – all of which will benefit Year 12 and Year 13 students.  Moreover, she talked about the key skills needed as an undergraduate and in the workplace as well as reflecting on the experiences of undertaking interviews and starting in the workplace, as a graduate.

Building on this, Rebecca also delivered presentations to the Year 12 and Year 13 A Level Geography classes providing more details about her career journey to date and giving useful insights into her work for Tetra Tech, working in multi-disciplinary teams.  There were some thoughtful questions from students and staff which she answered confidently and which allowed everyone to learn more about the challenges and importance of the work she is involved in.  Students also gained knowledge of graduate and apprenticeship entry routes helping them to consider their personal plans for progression after Sixth Form.

Rebecca also managed to speak to EPQ students and shared some very useful advice and answered questions from students.  Overall, the sessions really inspired our students who benefited from her thoughtful advice, as well as gaining more knowledge about academic progression and career routes and options.

Our photographs show Rebecca speaking to our Year 12 A Level Geography classes.  We would very much like to thank her for giving up a whole morning to speak to our Sixth Form students, sharing some fascinating insights and advice with everyone.  We look forward to welcoming her back to CRGS in the future, and hearing of her successes and achievements.
