We are delighted to announce that for the third year running our amazing students have been crowned Hyndburn and Ribble Valley District Champions for Athletics. Ten schools braved rather wet weather for the morning heats but in the afternoon, as the gold medals started pouring in, the sun came out to shine and capped off another memorable sporting triumph for the school. All our students represented the school with pride. Some brilliant performances saw students move from outside point winning positions to record valuable points for the school.
There are simply too many students to name them all and there are a great many who won gold medals. However, a special mention is reserved for four students who were awarded an additional medal for gaining the most points in their competition (2 golds!) and being named the stand out performers on the day. Well done to Abigail Earnshaw, Tilly Pollard, Jed Davies and Thomas Davis. We are incredibly proud of our students and the PE department for all the hard work and planning that goes in to making events like this such a success. We are already looking forward to next year and retaining our prestigious title!
