Students, families and staff at both the Main School and Sixth Form have been busy collecting warm clothing, bedding and toiletries as part of a Christmas appeal for local charity, “Bury and Manchester Help the Homeless.” Co-ordinated by Ms Martin and the Year 10 Charity Committee, the response to the appeal has been phenomenal and we are extremely grateful to everyone who has made a donation.
The local charity run a clothing bank and soup runs for homeless people in Bury and Manchester and the huge number of items we have collected will be distributed on the streets this weekend by volunteers.
We would also particularly like to thank local company Paper4Print who, along with Clitheroe Royal Grammar School parents, have agreed to transport the donations to a collection point in the Manchester area.
We are very proud of the response of our school community to this local appeal and we hope that the donations and gifts will offer comfort and warmth to those in need over the Christmas period.
