Post Results Services 2024 – A Level

All Awarding Bodies follow the same Review of Results procedure as set out by the JCQ, please find the information in the document here. Please note that there are set deadlines for each service which are set by JCQ and once the deadline has passed, we will be unable to submit any requests, please ensure you request any services by the deadlines.

Grade boundaries for each A Level subject / papers will be published here on A Level results day.

If you wish to request any post results services, please note you will have to come to the Examinations Office (on the Sixth Form site) to collect and complete a paper form, and we can also take payment (Cash only please) at the same time in the Examinations Office.

There are three possible Post Results Services.

Service 1 – Clerical Check

A copy of the clerically checked script can be requested as part of this service at an additional cost by some awarding bodies. This service includes the following checks:

  • that all the parts of the script have been marked
  • the totalling of marks
  • the recording of marks

Service 2 – Review of Marking

This is a review of the original marking to ensure that the agreed mark scheme has been applied correctly and a clerical re-check as described above. This is not a re-marking of the script.  A copy of the reviewed script can also be requested as part of the service at an additional cost by some awarding bodies.

Priority Service 2P – Review of Marking

This is a faster service primarily for Year 13 students whose university place is dependent on the outcome. This is a review of the original marking to ensure that the agreed mark scheme has been applied correctly and a clerical re-check as described above. This is not a re-marking of the script.  A copy of the reviewed script can also be requested as part of the service at an additional cost by some awarding bodies. This service must be applied for immediately as there is a very short deadline.

Please note, that following a Review of Marking, your grade may go up, stay the same, or go down.

There are also three different services for accessing scripts:

Access to Scripts – Priority Service

This service provides quick access to your marked exam script to support decisions regarding applying for a review of marking, there may be an additional cost by some awarding bodies.

Access to Scripts – Standard Service

This is a standard speed service for when you require a copy of your script to support teaching and learning going forward. Once this service is used, the candidate may no longer apply for a review of marking for this component.

Access to Scripts – Post Review Copy

This service is if you want a copy of the script once the review of marking has taken place. There may be an additional cost by some awarding bodies.

GCSE Exams Info for Students Parents 2024

Please be aware that the awarding bodies have designated Wednesday 26 June 2024 as the ‘contingency day’ for examinations. The afternoons of Thursday 06 June 2024 and Thursday 13 June 2024 have been designated as ‘contingency afternoons’ for examinations. The designation of ‘contingency days’ within the common examination timetable is in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations in the United Kingdom. It is part of the awarding bodies’ standard contingency planning for examinations.

Candidates must remain available until Wednesday 26 June 2024 should an awarding body need to invoke its contingency plan.

AQA also confirm that they will provide formulae sheets for our Level 2 Certificate in Further Mathematics (8365) exams in 2024 as well.  The DfE and Ofqual have also confirmed the return to normal exam arrangements for these subjects in 2025. Formulae and revised equations sheets will not be available after 2024.
