Year 10 students visited Holmes Mill on Monday 27th January for a workplace experience activity as part of our Careers Programme. They were given a presentation about the James’ Places group and a tour of the different parts of the Holmes Mill site, including the Spinning Block Hotel and the Food Court as well as the ‘duck-pin’ bowling alley. Students learned about how the business is working with universities and recruiting graduates into various roles, as well as the many part-time opportunities for young people. The visit finished with an insightful question and answer session. We are very grateful to James’ Places for accommodating our students. They learned a great deal about the diverse individual businesses that make up the group and the wide range of job roles available. The visits will help students to think about different career and study routes as they begin to consider post-16 options and look further ahead at post-18 decisions, in due course.
