On Tuesday 29th March, eight students (split into two teams) went to Blackpool Sixth Form to compete in the AMSP (Advanced Maths Support Programme) Maths Feast. The event is aimed at Year 10 students to help inspire them to continue studying Mathematics post-16.
The competition consisted of four rounds: What no words?, Group Round, Comprehension and a Relay. All of the rounds required the students to work together as a team and utilise their logic and problem-solving skills.
Both teams competed well in all the individual rounds with one team from CRGS deservedly winning the overall regional competition for the North West. The students involved were Aristo Wood, Ellie Pemberton, Emily Toon, Thomas Hitchcock, Darcy Mercer, Madeline Schumann, Rumaana Saiyad and Alex Davies.
All of the students competed well and thoroughly enjoyed a day ‘feasting’ on Maths!
