During their Citizenship programme, Year 7 students recently studied the environment and, as part of this, a team of eager volunteers gave up a lunchtime to plant 40 trees for the ‘Tree Appeal’ programme. To be involved in the project, students were asked to write a letter of application highlighting what trees meant to them and why they are so important. The letters were all fantastic and we are delighted that we have so many students who are aware of the importance of trees and the biodiversity they promote.
The students (and staff!) are now waiting patiently to see if the trees grow and we all hope that future generations of Clitheroe Royal Grammar School students will enjoy the benefits that these trees will bring.
