Having represented Great Britain in three consecutive European Championships in the Pony section, Sixth Form student Sophie has been working very hard to train her young horse, Jerrydale, to achieve her dream of representing Team GB in the Young Rider Section (for riders under 25 years of age).
Sophie has trained Jerrydale since purchasing him, aged four, from a prominent horse breeder in Holland. She has represented GB in the under-16s category in three European Championships in Denmark (2016), Hungary (where the team won a Bronze medal 2017), as well as in the UK and has competed in competitions in France, Holland and Belgium.
Sophie must now gain experience (and high scores) at top level competitions in the UK. Having won the North West Regional Championship last week, Sophie now qualifies for the National Championship in Gloucestershire on 10th April. Her ranking means that Sophie has to compete in the ‘Gold’ Professional Rider section, where she is the youngest rider!
We wish Sophie continued success in all her dressage competitions.
