On 29th October Year 10 students took part in a GCSE Mindset and Wellbeing Day. The day began with a workshop when Dr Richard Slinger from Lancaster University educated our students on the science behind stress and anxiety. Valuable advice on coping strategies was given. Students then moved on to a series of activities designed to support them through their forthcoming GCSE years. These included a yoga session, football, The Big Draw, an exam preparation and study skills workshop, as well as a session on identity and challenging stereotypes. The day concluded with a well-attended Parent/Carer information session given by Mr Hutchinson, Head of Year 10. Dr Slinger’s and Mr Hutchinson’s presentations, along with a whole host of other useful information and resources, can be found under the GCSE Support tab at the bottom of our school home page.
