On 21st January talented Clitheroe Royal Grammar School students Boris Andrews and Claire Maden visited the Department of Computer Science at Oxford University to take part in the second round of a UK-wide competition. Boris won third place in the Elite level final.
The UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge is designed to motivate studentsĀ about computing and computational thinking. It is a problem-solving contest with questions inspired by topics in Computer Science.
Boris and Claire were two of only 89 top-achieving students from years 10-13 nationally who took part in a final challenge before attending a lunch andĀ prize-giving ceremony at Hertford College. The finalists, who brought a guest with them, were drawn from more than 50,000 students across the UK who took part this year.
