On Saturday 14th November a group of Year 12 and Year 13 students represented Clitheroe Royal Grammar School in the regional heats of the Bar Mock Trial Competition at Preston Crown Court. The day saw the students take on the roles of clerks, ushers, witnesses and barristers in various court cases before a court judge. After battling through several rounds against stiff competition and putting in very impressive performances along the way, notably from the relentless Harry Vose, the team was rewarded with a place in the final. Facing the very strong Runshaw College, the students put in an immense effort and after several minutes of intense judge’s deliberation, CRGS came out on top.
Thanks to the hard work of all involved we now have the opportunity to represent the school and the North West in the national finals at the Old Bailey in London.
