The High Sheriff of Lancashire, Amanda Parker JP, will officially open The Smithies Library on 4th November 2015. The Library is an amazing study facility for our Sixth Form students and has been made possible by a very generous bequest from former student Arthur Smithies and his wife Joyce.
The original Library has been extended to provide study space for over 100 students and is equipped with iPads, Laptops and, of course, books and journals.
Our students are delighted with the facility. Chloe Richardson, Year 13, commented:
“The newly refurbished Sixth Form Library provides a calm working environment in which I can complete my work and explore my subjects in greater depth. The Library has an extensive stock of resources, tailored to every student’s needs.”
If you would like to view our new Library and meet our students and staff please join us on Wednesday 4th November between 2.30pm to 3.30pm at our Sixth Form site.
